Email Notifications

Community Questions sends email notifications to keep you informed about activity on questions you care about.

Watching Content

Watch a Question

Click the eye icon on any question to start watching it. You'll receive email notifications when:

  • Someone posts a new answer
  • Someone adds a comment

Note: Question authors automatically watch their own questions. You can unwatch at any time by clicking the eye icon again.

Watch a Space

Click the eye icon in the space header to watch an entire space. You'll receive notifications when new questions are asked in that space.

Watch All Spaces

In the global questions view, click the eye icon to watch all spaces. You'll receive notifications for all new questions asked anywhere across your Confluence instance.

Watch Tags

  1. Navigate to the Tags tab
  2. Find tags you're interested in
  3. Click the watch icon on each tag

You'll receive notifications when questions with those tags are asked.

Filtering Watched Questions

You can filter the questions list to show only questions you're watching:

  1. Go to the Questions tab
  2. Use the Show dropdown
  3. Select Watched

This helps you quickly find and track questions you care about.

Automatic Notifications

These notifications are sent automatically without requiring you to watch anything:

Answer receives upvote Answer author
Answer is accepted Answer author
Comment added Question/answer author
@mentioned Mentioned user

Managing Notifications

Unsubscribe

Each notification email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it to stop receiving that specific type of notification.

Stop Watching

To stop watching content:

  • Questions: Click the eye icon on the question again
  • Spaces: Click the eye icon in the space header again
  • Tags: Go to the Tags tab and click the watch icon again

Note: Email notifications are separate from chat integrations (Slack, Teams, Google Chat). See Integrations for setting up notifications in your team chat.
